In this episode of Community Conversation for Northeast Nevada, Megan Ray sits down with Bill Bauer, Vice President of the K-9 Mission Impawsible Foundation, to talk about the organization’s mission to support law enforcement and public-service K-9 teams.
Bill shares more about the needs working K-9 teams face, including specialized equipment, continued training, veterinary and wellness care, and support throughout a K-9’s working career and into retirement. We also discuss search-and-rescue and human-remains-detection K-9s, the unique challenges of serving rural Northeastern Nevada, and how K-9 Mission Impawsible works alongside agencies to help fill funding gaps.
Listeners will also learn about the legacy behind the foundation, how organizations can request assistance, and the many ways individuals, businesses, sponsors, and volunteers can help support the K-9 teams serving our communities.
