4-H K9 Program

On this episode of Community Conversation as we spotlight the growing Elko County 4-H Dog Program with special guests Abby Valdez, Kayla Valdez, and co-leader Angela Valdez. Learn how this newly revamped program has nearly doubled in participation in just its second year, helping local youth develop responsibility, confidence, patience, and leadership through dog ownership and training. Abby and Kayla share stories about their dogs, their experiences in last year’s 4-H Dog Show, the challenges and rewards of obedience training, and how the lessons they’ve learned with their dogs carry over into everyday life. We also discuss the upcoming Happy Tails Fun Run & Walk 5K fundraiser, which will help raise money for new agility equipment and support the continued growth of the program. Whether you’re a dog lover, a parent looking for youth activities, or simply interested in supporting local kids and community programs, this is an episode you won’t want to miss. Community Conversation is hosted by Megan Ray and proudly sponsored by Barney Trucking, Gallagher Ford, and Neff’s Diesel Repair and Performance.
