On this special Labor Day edition of Community Conversation, Megan Ray is joined by Scott Gavorsky for a look at the history behind the holiday, including why Labor Day began, working conditions in the late 1800s, child labor reform, the New York newsboys, Theodore Roosevelt’s role in labor history, and the rise of organized labor.
Before the barbecues, camping trips, and long weekend, take a moment to remember what Labor Day is really about: honoring the contributions and achievements of American workers.
